What is Latisse®?

Latisse is a new product made by Allergan, the manufacturers of BOTOX® Cosmetic. This product was originally used as a treatment for glaucoma. However, ophthalmologists found that as a side effect, the drug caused patients to grow longer, thicker, and darker eyelashes.

Released earlier this year, Latisse has already helped many women achieve the lush eyelashes they have always desired. Its active ingredient, bimatoprost, keeps your hair in its growth phase for a longer period of time. As a result, your eyelashes will grow longer after Latisse has been applied to them on a regular basis.

How Latisse Works

You will need to apply a thin layer of the Latisse solution to the base of your eyelashes once daily. It is important to use it every day; however, if you miss a day, do not double up the next day. This will not improve your results.

It generally takes 4-8 weeks to see results, since your eyelashes will require some time in an extended growth cycle before you see an improvement. Usually, you will achieve maximum length and fullness within 16 weeks of starting treatment.

It is important to continue using Latisse if you desire a lasting effect. If you discontinue usage, your eyelashes will gradually return to their original length and thickness.
