What is Laser Skin Rejuvenation?

Laser skin rejuvenation is a relatively new procedure that uses a CO2 laser to resurface your face. This technique has been highly effective for:

The Laser Skin Rejuvenation Procedure

Laser skin rejuvenation can be performed on your entire face or it can target specific isolated regions.

During the procedure, Dr. Gary Kawesch will use a CO2 laser to remove the outer layers of your skin which have been damaged by age. During the healing process, your body will generate new skin cells which will provide you with a smoother, tighter, more youthful skin surface.

Local anesthesia with sedation is generally used in conjunction with this procedure. The entire treatment is completed in a short visit to Dr. Kawesch’s office, and you will feel minimal discomfort. During your recovery, you may experience some swelling which can be treated with ice packs.

Recovery Period

Your skin will appear bright pink or red for several weeks. During this time, it is important to take extra precautions when you are in the sun. If you plan on being outside, make sure you wear sunscreen. This will help ensure that your results last longer and reduce the likelihood of additional skin damage due to sun exposure.

It may take several months for your skin to completely heal before you can see the final results. At this time, you should notice an improvement in the quality of your skin as well as a more youthful appearance. Results will last a long time, and future touch-up treatments can help maintain these results for years to come.
